Arvo Prima receives prestigious Community Service Award for his work with nonprofit HOPE Sheds Light

The SBACNJ hosted ‘A Night of Honor’ on September 12 at Jumping Brook Country Club in support of its builder members.

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Hope shined bright at the 2018 Shore Builders Association of Central New Jersey’s “A Night of Honor” as Arvo Prima, President of Pr1ma Corporation, received the Community Service Award for his time, dedication and service to Toms River-based nonprofit HOPE Sheds Light.

Each year, the SBACNJ presents the Community Service Award to an active member in good standing who generously gives their time to their community. Arvo has been a member of the New Jersey Builders Association since 1989 and has served on countless committees. He has also served as Life Director, past PAC Trustee and on the Board of Directors. Arvo is credited as being the liaison between the NJBA and the SBACNJ during the “Fix the Hammer” Campaign. He previously won the Builder Hall of FAME Award in 2011 and served as SBACNJ President from 2002-2003, as well as first and second Associate Vice President. Prima has been honored with several Big Spike Awards, and his company, Pr1ma Corporation, is a four-time B.E.A.M. Award recipient.

“It is an honor to receive this year’s Community Service Award, said Arvo Prima, President of Pr1ma Corporation. “Thank you to the SBACNJ for acknowledging our hard work and dedication. I would also like to thank my fellow HOPE Sheds Light co-founders Ron Rosetto and Stephen Willis, for their tireless efforts as we strive to help families across the Jersey Shore that have been impacted by addiction. Through this organization, we are able to show the world that recovery is real and possible for everyone.”

HOPE Sheds Light works year-round to provide help and resources to families in need. Since 2013, Prima has organized an Annual Celebration of HOPE Walk on the Seaside Heights boardwalk with the goal of raising funds and awareness for the organization. The 5th Annual Celebration of HOPE Walk recently took place on September 8th, and featured guest speakers in recovery, as well as onsite vendors and supporters. The day was dedicated to honoring love ones who were lost to addiction, as well as those who are still sick and suffering. It also emphasized the importance of addiction education and family recovery. The annual event helps HOPE Sheds Light to continue to live out its mission of community service.
